The main non-surgical alternative to Cellfina® in Toronto is LPG endermologie — a non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment for the appearance of cellulite that uses no needles and requires no downtime.
Most people who arrive at this question have already read about Cellfina®, liked the idea of a single session, and then reached the part about the needle and the bruising. This article is for that moment.
A note before we start. This article is general education, not medical advice. RK Centre does not offer Cellfina® and is not affiliated with it — what follows is a factual description so you can compare properly.
What is Cellfina®, exactly?
Cellfina® is a minimally invasive procedure, not a machine treatment. It is FDA-cleared and designed specifically for cellulite dimples on the buttocks and thighs.
A clinician numbs the area with local anaesthetic, then uses a small needle or microblade to perform subcision — cutting the fibrous septae that tether the skin downward and create each dimple. It is typically completed in a single session, and bruising and tenderness afterwards are expected.
It is a genuine treatment with a specific target. It is simply not a gentle one, and it is important to know that going in.
Why people look for alternatives
Three reasons come up again and again — and none of them are about whether Cellfina® works.
- The needles. For a cosmetic concern, many people are not prepared to be numbed and cut, however small the instrument.
- The downtime. Several days of visible bruising is difficult around work, travel, a wedding or summer.
- The scope. Cellfina® addresses discrete, well-defined dimples. If your concern is a more general dimpled texture, heaviness or a loss of firmness, it may not be aimed at what is actually bothering you.
The non-surgical options in Toronto
The genuinely non-invasive alternatives fall into three groups. None of them pierce the skin, and all work as a series rather than a single visit.
- LPG endermologie (CELLU M6 INFINITY®) — mechanical stimulation with motorised rollers and sequential aspiration. FDA-cleared for the appearance of cellulite, no needles, no downtime, backed by 80+ published studies over 40 years.
- Emtone® — radiofrequency combined with pressure waves through the skin surface. Non-invasive, several sessions, little to no downtime.
- Acoustic wave therapy — pressure waves applied to the tissue. Non-invasive, delivered as a series.
Note the honest framing: these are alternatives in approach, not equivalents. Cellfina® releases bands mechanically by cutting them; endermologie mobilises the tissue from outside. Different mechanisms, different trade-offs, different candidates.
| Cellfina® | LPG endermologie | |
|---|---|---|
| Invasiveness | Minimally invasive | Non-invasive |
| Needles / anaesthetic | Yes | No |
| Downtime | Several days of bruising | None |
| Sessions | Typically one | A series, plus maintenance |
| Main target | Discrete dimples from fibrous bands | Cellulite appearance, drainage, firmness |

Where LPG endermologie fits
Endermologie is the option for people who do not want a procedure at all. Nothing pierces the skin, no anaesthetic is used, and you return to your day immediately afterwards.
It is FDA-cleared for the appearance of cellulite under 510(k) K990445, and works mechanically rather than thermally. Watson (1999) documented its mechanical effect on the appearance of cellulite; Humbert (2015) examined effects on skin properties and dermal structure.
What it asks of you in return is patience. Results build across a series of sessions and are held with periodic maintenance, rather than arriving after a single visit. Individual results vary.
How to start
The useful first step is an assessment, not a booking. Bring your questions — including the ones about Cellfina®.
Rufina Kraychik was the first practitioner to bring LPG endermologie to Canada, and RK Centre runs the only CELLU M6 INFINITY® in Toronto. She reviews every application personally, and she will tell you honestly if a minimally invasive procedure is genuinely the better match for what you're describing. We would rather lose the booking than put you through a series that was never going to suit you.
When you're ready to know which route actually fits, call (416) 880-1080 or request a private consultation. There are no prices online because your protocol gets built after Rufina has seen your skin, not before.
